I never did a 1/4 mile time, but 0-60 in 8.8 seconds with my 2000 supercab 5.4L F150.

Track altitude does make a big difference. PyroManiac, Texas has one of the best air conditions for optimal performance. Besides the hot temps, the dry air and low altitude produce nice and high air density, which in turn creates more power. That's one of the reasons why I mentioned the track altitude in my sig for my 71 F-100. Drop say 3000ft in altitude, and I'd be running well into the 13 second range, but add 1500-2000ft, like at the Denver Mile High track, and I'd be back into the high 15's.

Hey Neal, you also being a fellow drag truck enthusiast,I was wondering if you had any tips on getting my truck to hook up? The rear suspension is virtually stock. Traction bars seem to be a good idea.

Cool

HI!... FORDIFICATION : Which one of your truck are you refering too? Try a good set of slicks, MICKEY THOMPSON "SPORTSMAN PRO's". Drag shocks, remove front and rear sway bars. Lower tire preasure. CAL-TRACS. There's a ton of things you can do.

P.S : Up here in CANADA, I've never seen a CHEVY (5.3) go faster than 16.00 flat excepte for one. This one ran 15.98 and had ALL the basic bolt-ons. DAM, I ran faster than that stock. Our tracks hook really well and elevation is around 680ft above sea level. On the street I walk away from them like their standing still!LOL!

I was actually refering to my 71 F-100, located in my sig. My 4x4 is pretty much out of the question for drag racing.

I do have 13.5" M/T ET street slicks, which are the ones with the 3 small lines running threw them to make legal. They work great but I'm at a threshold where if I decide to put more power threw them, they burn up! Those CAL-TRAC traction bars you speak of, do you have any info on them? Are they a truck t-bar? Thanks for the info.

This thread is exactly why I am a little hesitant to post times. Every person on here is going to have varying times with the same type truck due to geographical differences. I don't think any one would flat out lie about their times, but until all these trucks meet at the same track, same day, same time, we really are not comparing apples to apples. Hope everyone can show up at the F150 Rally!!

HI!... FORDIFICATION : I just ran your 14.69E.T through my DRAGMATH program. It tells me that if you were to run your truck at sea level that it would go 14.20E.T. If you were to run it here, where I live, you would go about 14.25E.T That would be about 2-1/2 tenths faster than I'm running right now. What does your truck weigh? I can roughly figure out your rear wheel H.P by using your MPH or E.T with my DRAGMATH program. http://WWW.CALVERTRACING.COM/ Is the site that will tell you about the CAL-TRACS. Check them out and call them to see if that have a application for your truck. All the LIGHTNING guys swear by them. I'm going to install a set on my truck this SUMMER.

JUST ME : You guys must have some good elevation and air down there. Not trying to flame CHEVY trucks or anything. I actually really like the way the SILVERADO, reg-cab, short-box, stepside looks. It's just that up here they just don't seem to run very fast. Mabey it's our METRIC CANADIAN air!LOL!

Cool

Hi Guys and Girls, I have been gone for a while but thought I would show my 1/4 mile times. I could really be fast if I knew what I was doing! The night I ran my 15.1 ET it was against a GT Mustang and I finished with him sitting off my right rear fender. Notice I said "rear." My Truck should run in the mid 14's according to dyno HP figures but I am still learning.
