Question idle rough and lopes

hey guys, i need your help! i own a 1991 ford f150, inline six, 4.9 liter which i love so much. two months ago while i was driving, my truck started to jerk and the check engine lite went on. it started to get worst within a week. i maintain my truck really well, so far i have change my fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, spark plugs wires, cap & rotor and my oil every 3000 miles. so when this situation came up, i took my truck to our local ford dealer for a digosntic reading to pull the codes out. the codes read that i have a vacuum leak and my o2 senor is out. so i replace my 02 senor and found the vacuum leaks and also repair it. that did not fix my problem, i still had a rough idle, but the check engine light does not go on. then a couple days later, my truck could not start. i kept trying to start for at least half hour. when it finally started (on its own) the idle was weezing or loping. i press the gas and it will start to drown. for about fifteen minutes of weezing the idle went back to its regular rough idle. i took it back to the ford dealer and could not find the problem. they adjusted the timing, which i did not want in the first place. i ask for a map to all the senors, but i don't know where to start? i do not want to spend money on parts i don't need. right now, it seems like a process of elimination. i'm leaning toward the EGR, but i don't know. can someone advise me what to do? thank-you

Welcome to F150online!

You change all that every 3000 miles? That's got to get expensive!

Anywho... when was the last time you had your injectors cleaned? That could be causing your problem. Also, are you sure the timing is correct? Before you delve into a new EGR valve, I'd take the exhisting one off, replace the gasket and clean that sucker (and the hose) with some good TB cleaner. Sometimes they have a tendancy to stick.

Hope this helps;

Sounds like it might be a bad missfire.
