I usually soak the area with liquid wrench and then use a wire brush to remove debris and rust. If you use a lubricant when you reinstall, use it sparingly so it won't melt or run on your rotor/shoe surfaces.

Post drums frozen to hub

... or at least they were. finally got them off, now; what about coating the hub w/ anti-sieze compound - will this make it easier to remove the drums next time?
