Time for Turning Rotors!!!!!
Seems to me that Ford could have least made the rotors out of a better material. I have 10k on my 2000 and it will shake the hat off your head when you stop. I have not taken it back in yet but I expect them not to do anything about it. Has anyone else had this problem yet. I would at least expect to have it after 25k or so but not this early.

Ford will eat those rotors - be gentle but firm. They *may* not eat the pads.
The difference is that the pads are a 'wear item' and -- except to the most ****-retentive -- rotors are not intended to wear -- at least at your early mileage.
Brakes seem so blatantly simple -- but things like you're experiencing keep engineers and service experts very busy.
There must be some law of nature/physics which prevents them all being solved simultaneously.

Since it is under warrenty and a SAFETY issue, I would ask for new rotors and pads free. My 1989 TBird super coupe had a recall at 25,000 miles for warped rotors. They replaced rotors and pads even though I had no problems. Then at 44,000 miles I got another recall for the same item. Again all new brakes. It had to do with the material and heat treat of the rotors the first time. The second recall was because the pads were too abrasive. Stand firm. It is a safety issue.

Ford will most likely fix or replace your rotors for free. Pads are probably fine, but are a "wear" item, and if you need them you will prabably have to pay for them .
We've had our 99 Taurus in twice for the rotors, and both times it was free. Still on the original pads at 35k.
My 2000 F150 is fine at 23K miles. My 97 lasted 80K on the original pads....rotors were fine.

45,000 miles on brakes and rotors. Rotated the tires this past weekend and the front brakes appear to be 80%. Don't ask me how, everytime I go mudriding there is an awful lot of screeching going on.

I'd say you have a warped rotor, probably from the factory, been known to happen. If you've had to use your brakes REAL HARD on occasions, that will attribute to warped rotors. One way to check for a warped rotor is to jack up the front and spin the wheels
without hitting the brakes, if they grab-release-grab-release you've got a warped rotor. Something else to check, make sure your front wheels are tight against the rotor evenlly. You could even have a bad rim.
