Question Carbo "selling" street 'now'??

Hey Beechkid...
Are you 'sure' that Carbotech is selling street
now?
I contacted them at your suggestion and they
said that they are "working" on a NEW street
substance (lead me to believe it was not
avail now??)...

Talk to me..

Thinking of going to the Hawk stuff... they've
got three levels and I'm going to select the
middle one... forget what they call it but
sounded very good!

Understand that HAWK "used" to supply Carbotech??
No?

Thanks.

This is what I purchased from carbo...

Shoes: "Silver Streak" Lining #912

Pads: "Super Street" Lining Carbon Metallic #7266

Hawk purchases their lining material from Wellman Industries.

Carbo makes most of their own lining but I have a hunch that it may be Wellman also (since the owner of Carbo use to work for Wellman) and he cryogenically treats the lining to reduce dust, etc.

I have had these linings for 2 years and I know that Carbo at that time was under contract with a European car mfg to develop a brake lining for their new limited production 200 mph car. Perhaps thats the lining that is about ready to hit the market. Hawk does have really good linings, just call em first to make sure the linings you are getting are just right for your needs (high friction coefficient .35 or better and is low dust).

Give Carbo a call back with these lining #'s and see what Larry (the owner) says and then give Hawk a call and compare what you are getting for the $. The last I talk to Larry, he was trying to set up production lines in Germany....who knows what's going on now!

Keep me posted, I'm very interested in what you find out!
