Red face Slight whine from right front ??

I've recently developed a whine from the pass. front wheel. New OEM pads 11,000 miles ago, didn't do the the rotors but they don't feel warped at stops. Whine can only be heard with window down, beside barriers, without traffic noise but it drives me crazy.
Noise does NOT seam to change when brakes are applied.
Any Ideas??
Could it be a bearing??
Any and All input is much appreciated!!

check the intruder seals on the inside of the hub area its like a grease seal where the cv joint goes thur the hub spray some wd40 and lift the wheel up and see if the noise goes away i know the exploders w/4x4 had these problem with whining noise driving down the road

Glad to hear from you fordtec, I had searched back for the post with your e-mail but didn't find it.
I did exactly that, sprayed a WD like penetrant on everything including where CV enters hub and noise seams to have gone away.
Could this indicate a deeper problem like the CV joint itself ? I also pinched the cotter pin which seamed to be rattling/vibrating. I wasn't sure what stopped the "Whine".
Thanks!

no its not the cv joints but the seals replcing them is the only wayto get rid of it permantly or keep spraying wd40
good luck

squealing/whinning noice

I have the same whinning noise as you describled. I read the fix thread, but am not quite sure where you should lube? Do you have to remove the rubber boot??? Can you be more specific.

lydon bewtween the hub and the rubber boot is a seal called intruder seal it needs to be replaced to shop the whining noise or you can spray wd40 on the area but that doesnt take care of it

WD-40 worked for a month

The squeal held off for about a month after spraying with penetrant oil but returned this past weekend. I lubed it again and it quieted. I would like to fix it properly though. What does this involve? Does the hub have to be removed? and is the boot reusable?
Thanks for the help!
