Performance Friction Pads from auto Zone??
I just bought the Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads from AutoZone. The come with a Lifetime warranty. Has anyone used these pads? How do they hold up?
I am going to be installing them next Saturday. My buddy is helping me. We are going to pull the rotors and have them turned by his mechanic and pack the bearings.
Thanks,
Steve

Hey, those are the same pads I have!!! I had them replaced when I installed my new Powerslot rotors. Since they have the lifetime warranty, they replaced them at no cost and without any hassle. I took the old pads in, showed my receipt and walked out of the store with a new set of pads. I like the pads and have had no problem with them. I have been keeping a close eye on the new set because my understanding is that with the slotted rotors, the pads have a tendency to wear faster. Oh, well, as long as I can replace them at no cost, I will keep doing that. The lifetime warranty sure has made the $56.00 price tag seem more reasonable.

They do work well, but they are the dirtest brake pads I've ever used. My dad had me put them on his SHO and they were so flithy (thick black dust) that he bought dust shields! And, he's not the type who worries about how his car looks. I think he got about 40,000 miles out of his first set. They warranteed them no problem. Its been 2-3 years since he got his last set, so maybe the formulation has changed to limit the dust.
I put Raybestos Cermic on my F-series. I love them. They are very clean, quiet, and last long (I'm very hard on brakes and got about 40,000 miles out of them). I got conflicting advice on these pads here. I paid $60 for a second set (they are not lifetime warantee), because I liked them so much.
