Its possible but very unsafe. On a 97 it is possible to run 15" wheels with a very low backspacing, but this causes premature wear on all suspension, steering, bearings, and brakes. My 16" wheels barely fit over the calipers as it is, you'd have to take alot of material off the calipers to make em fit. Bottom line stick with 16s or 17s, or buy a 96- F150.

I think a few of the 15's only take a bit of calliper shaving. You might check with some of the Lightning guy's to see wut wheels they are using for thier 15" slicks.

I put 15's on there they bolted all the way on but u could not turn them by hand so personally i didint think u would have to take off to much of the caliper to make them fit.......

Alot of L guys are running 15's matter of fact a few wheel manufacturers state you can use their 15's w/ a little trimming of the caliper. I dont think they would do that because there would be legal repurcusions if it was unsafe or prematurely wear out suspension parts.

My buddy had bought a 97 w/ a 4.2 and I'm almost positive that it came with 15" rims from factory. They were the chrome steel wheels? Does'nt Ford offer any stock 15' wheels for our trucks?

No, 16's are the smallest ever offered on 97-03 F-150's. Why not just run 16's. There is a lost bigger selection of rims in that size?

Like wandell says, 16" are the smallest factory offered wheels on the '97-03 F150's. Badblack, lots of things are for sale that aren't legal or safe. SO long as it makes a buck for them... Just because they say its OK doesn't mean it really is - pretty easy to claim that you knew you modified your rig in some way. You play, you pay....
