Question Opinion on Cooper Tires in P265/70-17

It's getting close to replacement time for my O.E. Goodyear R/T's
(63K miles)
Anyone have anything good or bad to say about Cooper Discoverer H/T tires as replacements on a SuperCrew 4X4 that does get off-road very often?

Not exactly what you were asking, but I have Discoverer A/Ts on my truck, and have been pretty pleased with them. If your off-roading includes any mud, I would be very hesitant to go with the H/Ts. The A/Ts do OK in light to moderate mud, but they don't shed very well in thick mud. I have 21K miles on mine so far, and not a problem out of them yet. Highway ride is good, and they seem to be wearing well also. You will trade of 10K miles in treadwear warranty if you go with the A/Ts instead of H/Ts, but I think you would definitely be better suited when you do go off-road.

Hello JDMnAR,

I had the Discoverer S/T's on my previous F-150, a little more aggressive than the H/T but the quality of Cooper tires is excellent. So I would say the H/T's are probably a pretty good tire as well.

I don't doubt the quality of the tire at all, as I am in full agreement with you based on my experiences with them. Rather, I question the suitability of the H/T on a vehicle that will be taken off-road. I also looked at the S/T, but decided that I could live with the less aggressive A/T in exchange for a treadwear warranty.
