New Tires-- Great Price!!

I have been searching for the best price for new tires for my 2000 F-150 w/ 3" body lift. I think I have found it. BFG AT/KO's 285/70/17's for $169/each. Out the door with lifetime everything including free patches $856. This is from a local tire shop in Tallahassee. Come to find out, this size tire is on a national backorder. Thought everyone would like to hear this amzing offer. Big10 tires

Here's an even better deal. BFG A/Tko 315/70R17 for $125 each!! .

They will fit on a non-lifted 4x4 SCrew with minor valance trimming. Should fit easily on yours with the lift you have.

You wanna talk about a good deal on tires!

Wallmart Liberator AT
285/75/16 $95

That's no typo. I have these tires and they kick ***. I went and climbed a bunch of really steep hills and they performed just as good as my last set of BFG A/T ko's. They are super quiet on the freeway. And for the price, they can't be beat.

Understandable. I am at a loss for why these 315's are so cheap! I have seen 2 SCrews with these tires (non-lifted) and they look great. Wish my 285's were not almost new...I'd get a set in a heartbeat. I thought about buying them and keeping them until I need new ones....but I will prolly be in a F-250 PSD by the time the 285's wear out and won't need 17" tires at that time.

You will enjoy the BFG's that you found, though! They are fantastic tires.

Those are some damn big tires. I love my 285's. I go off roading a lot and I would hate to have to worry about hitting a bump and rubbing the hell out of the tires. The larger size will also trash your front end components. Just my $.02.

I believe they are the same tires the new H2's are running. I don't think they have the white lettering, which could be part of it. I also suspect BFG made a bunch of these and maybe H2's aren't selling like they thought?

I'm going to buy a set real soon while they are still cheap and wait to put them on till I get wheels and the lift

I have 3,000 miles on them so far and I'm pretty happy. I've taken them off-road on sandy/loamy soil and they worked great. On sand they are not too bad, but no AT will be that good on sand. Their best quality is that they are very quiet at freeway speed. I like these almost as much as the BFG's I had on my old truck and they cost just over 1/2 as much!

The only downside to these tires is that they needed a lot of weight to balance them. Other than that, i can't see anything wrong with them. They are 10 times as good as a Les Schwab tire and they cost $40 less than those!

I too have the Liberator AT's in the 265/75-16 size. I'm very pleased with them! I will put on the 285s next time around! I have about 35,000 miles on these and don't see any reason I can't get 50,000! From wwhat I have been told and heard, they are made by a Michlin owned company. Not really sure though. Apparently when I cranked up my torsion bars out to level truck, it put everything into perfect alignment in the front end because I'm getting perfectly even wear across the tread. Take care all!

Back to the BFG's

Rebel,

I have a ? for you about those 315's. They are even cheaper now. $119!!!!! I am worried about fitting them. I have cranked my torsion bars up front. Rear won't be a problem obviously. I don't care if I have to trim some plastic. I want to make sure I won't f' something up though. I'd be p.o.-ed if I bought them and they didn't fit. The web site recommends 8.5" wheels. I have the stock 7.5". Problem there?

I'm looking at that price and drooling! That's almost as cheap as the terra grappler's I'm looking at! But they are 265/70's and not lt rated!

Give me good news!

Doug

Well, the 315's can obviously go on the 7.5" wheels, but who knows about things like wear issues with the narrower-than-recommended wheels. The BFG 315's have not been on the market long enough for that kind of feedback. But, There are alot of ppl who have the 33x12.50 17 ProComp tires (which have been around for quite a while). They recommend either 8" or 8.5" wheels and I have not seen any reports of probs with mounting them on our 17x7.5" wheels.

I say go for it. The only problem that I can imagine cropping up would be uneven wear or maybe difficulty keeping them balanced, but who cares! At $119, it's no big deal. You can't get no-name brand tires for that price and no-names would have the afore-mentioned problems anyway.

Good luck.

I am almost kicking myself for not get the 315's. HOWEVER, I keep going back to thinking that if I would have gone to them instead of the 285's I would have to change the gears alot sooner that I wanted. Going to 315 creates a lot more stress on your tranny and gears to turn the bigger tires. I can tell a losss in power with the 285's, I don't even want to think about if I would have gone to the 315's. Down the road when I get new gears I will most likely go with the bigger size. Just a thought!
