Tire pressure with 20's?

I just installed my 20x8.5 wheels with the 275/45/20 goodyear GTII tires (from a Harley truck). I'm wondering what I should be running for air pressure in these. I always ran 32psi in my 275/60/17's that came stock. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks,

Mitch

well in my lightning the stock PSI is 32 with 295/45/18 tires i am getting 20's with 295/40/20 and due to the lower side wall i have been advised to bring up the pressure a few notches like around 36 to 40 PSI cold so i guess you could get away with the same 32 psi but i would say go more like 33 to 34 rear and 35-36 front< if your two wheel drive for 4x4 i dont know

My truck is a regular cab V6 2wd, so it's pretty light. I tried 40 psi, it was way too high. I'm currently at 35 psi, and it seems pretty good. I might try dropping to 32 to see if I notice a difference in ride quality.

Thanks,

Mitch

Your best bet for road use is to follow the door sticker. The tires list the max pressure that can be run. Running too little pressure could allow too much patch on the road and the risk for roll over increases. (The tires will out perform the truck's capabilities). I've watched one roll over at a driving track. The tires did what they were built to do, stick to the road. Stock tires would have slid and kept the truck upright.
