Question rim swap

Will 17" rims from a 2001 Expedition or Supercrew fit my 97 f150. It also has the "sawblade" 17" factory rims. I just like the chrome look. I bought a set yesterday but the lugnuts are not the same diameter mine are smaller. Please let me know if any of you have done this swap.

swap

Yes you can make this swap. I put aset of 2001 17's on a 1998. All you have to do is keep the lugnuts with the truck they came off of only difference is the lug size but they lock down on either wheel just fine. I have a 2001 Supercrew with the 16's and have about 10000 miles and know problems

lugs for rim swap

Sorry I should have clarified. My lugs are 12mm and the lugnuts on the newer wheels are 14mm. So are my lugs too small for the newer rims. If so are there any lugnuts out there that can accomodate the larger lug openings on the newer wheels or will I have to change my lugs?

Just go to Autozone or Pep-Boys and get some 14mm lugs and call it a day. I can't imagine that it would cost all that must

Question

You should be able to just use YOUR 12mm lug nuts with the new wheels. The wheels on these trucks are "hub centric", meaning that's where the hub and the wheel align. All the lug nuts do is hold the wheel on.
