Are these wheels clearcoated?

I got some Westley's Bleche-White on them, and I need to know so I can know what to use to polish it out. Also, what products do you recommend for this purpose? Thanks a million.

I don;t know, but I'd be interested in knowing as well.

What type of trie dressing/protectant are you using? It looks really nice.

Well, actually, I'm not sure. That photo was from the previous owner's ad when I bought the truck. I'm using Meguiar's Natural Shine right now. It's not as shiny, but it lasts longer than others I've tried (Tire Wet for example). I'm thinking about trying Endurance Gel next.

The painted scallops are clearcoated, but I don't know about the rest of the wheel.

Those appear to be the same wheels I had on my 2001 F150 and YES they were clearcoated. Since clearcoat is basically a clear paint, I used a clearcoat-safe wheel cleaner and regular polish and wax to polish and wax them. They looked real nice after the waxing. Unfortunately the wax seemed to attract more brake dust than normal, but it was easy to get off due to the waxed surface.

Flytrap,

Sorry I didn't originally see your inquiry about getting Bleche White on your wheels.

I don't have good news for you, see my post below. I didn't use it on the wheels, I just got some overspray on them......and have tried everything. What I've been doing is waxing the wheels about every other washing to keep the surface coated. Mine are not too bad, you have to get pretty close to see the spots.

Flytrap,

Here's what I've found and been using since the overspray incident:

I had polish aluminum wheels on my pold ranger and they were clearcoated and a poain in the a$$ to clean. I found Mothers makes a polish for clearcoated wheels. It worked well but it has a little to late.

I have the same wheels and I'm curious can you re apply clear coat to them? Reason being is some toyo took a curve too wide and hit right on the rim and scratched it. I want to praise the toughness of this truck! it knocked my rear end over about 12 inches and that was the only damage I received. as for him he will be replacing a front headlight, fender and ground affects. Also where could i find a new oem replacement wheel besides at the ford stealer? I would then use scratched wheel for my spare tire.
BTW He didn't have insurance and according to the officier was in this country illegaly.

I would think that if you stripped the clearcoat off and took the tire off the rim a paint place could probably put a clear coat on for you for relatively cheap. I would call some paint shops and see if they can do it.

Thanks Crazy4Fords,
I will have to check monday on that.
I can barely notice it after taking his vehicle residue off rim but dang it still bugs me that I know it's there and might cause some problems later with discoloration. Thanks for the advice
