Question 285/70/17 How Much Higher??

I saw some great posts on people upgrading the stock 4x4 17 tires to the 285/70/17.

My question is how much higher does to it lift the truck. I park mine in my garage and I should have good clearance but I want to make sure.

I think the factory cranked my torsion bars up. When I bought my truck it was the tallest on the lot and it sits higher than all stock ones.

I am looking to replace the skinny stock banana skins. I have a 2001 4x4 with the off-road package and the FX4 wheels (same as the fx4 17's).

Just want to avoid coming home from the tire place only to find it wont fit in the garage.

Thanks!

If you have 265/70R17 now, 285/70 is 1" larger in diameter, half of which would be under the axle to raise the truck. That isn't too much lift, less than the adjustment of the torsion bar.
