What makes it look terrible? The tires look too small? Do you have a lift kit?

no lift kit it just has too much space between the wheel well and the tire

I fit 285/75/16's under my 4x4. That was on my stock rim. This was before I lifted my truck too. Depends too on your wheel width, if you stick with stock that's about as big as you can get. Stay with a 8 inch or small and you'll be fine. Venture out to 10 and I'd start to worry. Depends too if you drive off road. If you dont' do that then you may be able to go bigger. A 315/70 is about the same, just a little wider.

If you have a 4x4, the largest combo you can fit is a 305/70-16(33x12.50) on a 16x10 inch rim. To fit these, you will have to trim the front bumper's lower plastic valance a little and/or crank up the torsion bars. Some people have fit 315/75-16's(35x12.50) on stock 4x4 by using the stock rims and cranking the torsion bars and trimmimg, but it is a tight fit. You won't have any problems if you use your stock rims and 285/75-16's(33x11.50) or 305/70-16's. I originally had my 285's on my stock rims and they were not even close to rubbing.
