Rear Brake shoes

Do these ever wear out?? I am at 73,000 and still have 1/2 left? Must not be adjusting them, will have to backup more often

Keeping them adjusted will help the pedal feel more solid.

Bear in mind that during mild to moderate braking the proportioning valve directs less fluid to the rear brakes than the front brakes. If you have conservative braking habits they will last a long time.

My f150s' usually got about 60,000km out of the rear
shoes. My guess is you never haul or tow much. My adjusters
sometimes rust solid if I drive in a lot of water.(launching the boat)

After 160,000 MI on my '99 I decided to chage out the rears just because. Comparing the new and old shoes I was amazed to see that I had hardly any wear at all. (changed them anyway) this truck is used for work and is full of equipment and supplies all of the time. I was really amazed although 75% of my driving is highway.
