f250 Tire Recommendation

I have an F250 reg cab, long bed, 4x4, auto, 4:10 gear. I need to purchase new tires. The present tires (an off brand LT265-75/16 with D load rating) were on the truck when I purchased it used. I do not tow trailers or whatever. What are opinions on the Firestone tires that come on the truck originally? Is it advisable to purchase 10 ply tires only? I would like to purchase Michelin tires but would rather not spend that much money. What is a good alternative less expensive brand? I am suprised at how rough riding this truck is and hope it gets better with new tires. Thanks for any info.

The Firestone Steelex tires are junk, and almost anything you choose will be better. I personally like the Interco Trxus M/T radials, I had the 285x75x16's on my 250 when I traded it in on my 150 a few weeks ago. They look like a mean offroad tire, but they are absolutely silent on the highway, and the max load is 3745 which is higher than most. I had about 30,000 miles on them without rotating, and they still had lots of tread. They were excellent in rain, mud, snow, and offroading.

BTW: 285's look much better on a 250.
