will they scrub?

will 285/70/r17 scrub on my supercrew fx4 without cranking the torsion bars. i know they are no taller, theyre just a little wider. also i think the fx4 wheels are 7.5 inches, if so is that too wide of a tire for the wheel. one more question. my tires now are 265/70/r17. how much wider is 20mm in inches? wonder if its even worth the litte bit more of width.

No, they won't rub. They will be both taller and wider than the 265X7017's.

Gearhead,

I was looking thru your gallery and saw some pictures of your truck that had the 4x4 Off Road stickers on them, not the FX4s. Where'd you get those stickers from, just for curiousity's sake? The dealer? Thx,

Mike

Actually mine didn't have the "Off Road" portion of the sticker even though it came with the package (including skid plates). It was misbadged from the factory. That's kind of what influenced me to change. I've had 3 of these and ended up keeping the chrome wheels on this one. That's just my personal taste. http//www.fordpartsonline.com, talk to Gary he's been very good to me. They're about $50 for the pair. He got me the KR front valence also.

The 285/70-17's will be approximately 1 inch wider and 1 inch wider than the 265/70-17. Basically, you're looking at a 33x11.50-17 tire vs. a 32x10.50-17.

Gearhead,

Nice looking truck. What are running for a wheel / tire setup?

Thanks for the compliment. The wheels are just the factory Lariat wheels. They come on other things also. 17 X 7.5 Chrome. The Tires are BFG AT/KO in a 285X70X17.
