Post How Big!?

okay, I've seen post on this before and it seems like you can never find a straight answer but I just want to know what is the largest size BFG's I can put on my 98' ORP? Truck is NOT lifted and I want to stay with the stock wheels.

You might have to get 16" wheels as there are not many 17" tires avalible from what I have read here.

I second that. I have 33" on my F-250LD, but I cranked my torsion bars. Tire sizes are limited in 17's. I think BFG has come out or are going to come out with some new options.

Zracer,

If you have the off road pkg, am I correct in assuming that you have a 4x4 (I don't think it is available in a 4.2)? If so, KKirt on this site has put on a set of 305/70/R16 tires on his lariat (32.8" tall). Unfortunately, you would have to change wheels for these. The equivalent diameter in 17" wheels would be 285/70, although I don't know who makes them.

Z, these guys are not going to tell you the truth cause if they did you would get bigger tires than them and they wouldn't have the biggest etc etc. I think they even post it wrong in their signatures just to throw you off. You are going to have to get advice from a woman. They are the only ones that can actually judge true size. Or take what these guys say and go up one size. Me? Yes, I would lie to you too.

Thumbs up

ZRacer, you can put 285/75/16 or 305/70/16 on your truck if it has 16" rims, however, they are sucked in a bit on the factory wheels. If you have 17's, a cool way to go is a Super Swamper 32x11.50x17, (I think this is the size, I don't have my Interco book at the house). They would be pretty big for your factory wheels also. The best looking (I think) set up for the 4x4 is a 16x8 wheel with a 305/70/16. Hope this helps...
