Eagle Alloy's Wheels

Eagle Alloy's Wheels
Just recently I've installed a set of Eagle Alloy's ( Series 143 ) Rims 16.50x9.75, and a set of BFGoodrich All-Terrian KO tires 33x12.50x16.50.
Anyways I've taken them to get balanced twice, and still at or around 62-72 mph. I feel a slight shimmy in the steering wheel.
Could my new rims be messed up, not true etc.?
Or I'm I just expecting my new truck to handle and ride as it did with the factory wheels and tires. The new tires are a whole lot wider than the factory ones. Maybe they pickup more road sensations. I don't know.
Should I goto the place where I purchased them and demand a whole new set of rims.
Any thoughts or ideas greatly appreciated.
Thanks !

Something's wrong man. I got my Eagle series 146 wheels with 305/70X16 Goodyear AT/S tires last weekend. It handles so much better than it did with the stock 235's. It was like night and day. I cruised the hour long drive home from the shop at 65-80 mph the whole way with smooth sailing. Better get them checked out while their still new. If just one of the front wheels is messed up you'll feel it. Good luck.

Usually, BFG tires ballance amazingly well, especially the all-terrain. If you got the tires from Discount Tire w/the lifetime ballance, don't cringe taking advantage of it. Anywho, going to 33" tires is going to have its slight disadvantages. Those are some nice meats. Enjoy em. But if they really are a thorn in your socks, get them reballanced from the retailer you bought them from(hopefully w/no charge since they are brand new). The rims shouldn't be the cause of your problem. But never underestimate the unexpected.

The tire shop I goto and I think we have it figured out. I'm turning in my Eagle Alloy's rims for some American Racing Baja's.
Reason being; the American Racing Baja rims are what they call a ( HUB-CENTRIC ) rim. The Eagle Alloy's were not.
Therefor when the tire shop balanced my tires it showed good on all three try's.
But from the year 97 and up, ford changed they way they centered the rim on the rotor or whatever that's called. They used to center the rim with the bolt stud pattern.
I really don't know how to explain this but here goes. Now ford centers their rims with a perfectly round hub in the center of the main hub ( front and rear ) instead of using the bolt patterns. He said it was called ( HUB-CENTRIC ). The rims fit very snuggly around this center hub on the main hub.
What we think was the problem was that after balancing, and mounting the wheels to the truck, it reverted back to the bolt stud patterns for centering. And not the main hub for a very accurate centering.
Anyways, the new Baja's are ordered and will be here in about one and a half to two weeks, with the ( HUB-CENTRIC ) design.
Can anyone confirm this ...
Thanks ...

CCLA:
Is it because the wheel fits so tightly to the hub? Just curious ...
Also, you made me start thinking about lifting and wheels & tires and stuff. I mean I really like your truck, and after I saw it, I really had to do something similar.
Have you had any of the experiences with your AR wheels. You don't feel any steering wheel shake, or notice any bouncing at or around 41 - 62 - 72 mph. do you?
Do your AR wheels fit really tight around the center part of the hub on your truck?
Thanks In Advance ...
