Question V6, What size tires/wheels?

Hey,

I've got a 4.2 l V6 F-150, Extended Cab..

Currently I have 16" stock rims, stock suspension..

What would be the best size tires/wheels to go with so that I am getting maximum performance, minimum loss of gas mileage/power?

I'm currently looking at getting a set of 18" rims.. will this work without having to mess with my suspension?

Will I have to get my speed-o-meter and odometer adjusted?

Basically, I want slightly larger tires/wheels that will look good and give me maximum performance/acceleration with minimum loss of power or mileage.

Current mods = jet chip stage 1, vforce muffler sido exhaust, air force 1 intake on the way.

Thanks a bunch!

I'll post a few pics once I get everything done =]

i have stock wheels on my truck but the overall tire is taller and wider so i had to put a new gear in the speedo cable ... i was running 10mph faster than what the speedo said

There are sites such as www.1010tires.com where you can compare tire sizes with their online calculator and know how things change (percentage +/-) with the tires and wheels you select.

The dealer installed 18" wheels with 265 60's on my V6 and I don't think it changed the overall circumference mcuh at all. Thus no significant chage to my speedo reading.
