Angry Potential Good Year Tire Problems!!!!

The Boston Globe printed an Associated Press Story today reporting potential problems with some GoodYear Tires. These are reported to be tread separation problems like those being experienced by Firstone Tire Owners. Here's an excerpt and a link to the story. I have Wrangler AT's so naturally I am concerned.
http://www.boston.com/news/daily/25/goodyear.htm

"In its review process, Goodyear found that a new trend of larger vehicles might lead to overloading of tires, Sinclair said. Goodyear in 1996 began putting an extra layer, or so-called nylon cap, on Load Range E tires to make them more robust, he said.

Millions of the older, unreinforced light-truck tires remain on the road, including the Goodyear Wrangler AT, Goodyear Wrangler HT, Goodyear Allseason Workhorse, Kelly-Springfield Power King and Kelly-Springfield Trailbuster." As reported in the Boston Globe - 10/25/00

I wouldnt be concerned because the story states that the tires were load range "E" tires which means they would be placed on a 1 ton or bigger vehicle most likely. Load Range E=Big A$$ Truck. The wrangler HT's are the tires that are put on the E-350 work vans and many mid size moving trucks. I wroked at a tire shop that sold Goodyear only and never saw a tread separation problem, even on the really cheap(~$20/per) 12" tires. If you've ever lifted a wrangler HT youll know the difference between it and a regular tire cause it weighs about 20lbs more than any tire of similar size! As for the ATs i have no clue as to how good they are because we sold the RTS's and Workhorses instead.
