Question 35's are equal to what?

I've tried to look on almost every website, but can't find a comparison chart. I have 16x8 Rims and would like to know what that size would be in that metric format. For example 285/75/16. Thanks again for so much help off these boards.

35x12.50's are pretty equal to 315/75...
33x12.50's are pretty equal to 305/75
285/75 are pretty damn close to 33's...maybe 32.5?

ProComp makes a 305/70R16 in a mud terrain and an all-terrain...which they list at 33x12.50.

Split,

Here is how to figure out the metric format. Using your numbers 285/75/16.
285 = width in milimeters
75 = aspect ratio in percentage
16 = rim size

1. Take the width (285) and divide by 25.4 (this converts to inches)
2.Multiply the result from step 1 by the decimal equivalent of the aspect ratio (.75 in this case)
3.Multiply the result in step 2 by 2. The aspect ratio gives you the side wall height. Since there are two side of the tire above and below the rim (when measuring from the ground up) you need to multiply by 2.
4.Finally add the result from step 3 to the rim size (16 inches in this case)

So you get 285/25.4 = 11.22" wide
11.22 * .75 = 8.415"
8.415 * 2 = 16.83"
16.83 + 16 = 32.83" tall

I hope that isn't too confusing. I went through the same thing to see if I could get a metric version that was the same as the 35/12.5 that I have now

How do those ProComps ride and handle? Are they noisey? How about off-road?
