Question rim brands?

i guess our rim BOLT pattern limits our selection of rim brands.

what brands our out there...cheap or nice?

also....would you go with a smaller rim and more rubber or larger rim and less rubber? which is better? even if the result is the same overall diameter.

Check out tirerack.com, they have a nice tool and a pretty good assortment to choose from.

Actually, there's a decent amount of wheels out there for the 5x135 bolt pattern. The big three I looked at were Weld, American Racing and Eagle Alloys. I can't recall the websites, but if you search you'll find some good ones that show many more wheels than you'll find at regular 4wd websites.

I'd go with a larger rim and less tire. It'll handle better cause your sidewall won't flex as much. For the same reason, the ride MAY be a bit rougher, but it's a truck - I don't think you'd ever see the difference.

thanks mike

good point about the tire wall...i had also heard it is obviously less durable..i.e. sidewall punctures.

Almost every wheel company sells rims for an f150. 5x135mm may seem like a strange bolt pattern, but it must be remembered that the same pattern is used on both expeditions and f150's(the #1 selling vehicle in the world). That is a huge market which many accessory companies take full advantage of.

I personally run American racing AR 23's. They were pretty cheap, and they look nice too.

How about ASA ?

I found some ASA that seemed a bit lower in price than AR or WELD (very spendy)

is ASA pretty good or not worth it?
