Post Tires

How big a tire can you fit on a stock 16" rim for a 98 F-150 4x2? Do bigger tires tear up the front ends ? Can you get any lift at all from heavy duty shocks?street use mostly, looking for a beefier look and some more ground clearence. Work truck occasional hauling / towing any recomendations on tire modles / brands?

IN MY OPINION !!!..Go with 265s, in a BFG AT/KO.....Looks great, no rubbing at all, dont look to big..and you will get about 1/2 to 1 inch of lift....but no sorry shocks wont lift anything....Dave

Thanks Dave,
Im torn between the 265s and the 285s like the guy has a picture of on the silver F-150 BFG AT.
I had a guy at dicount tire tell me that bigger tires tear up the front end on F-150 4x2s is it true ? and does it void the warranty?
