Rear ABS Not working

Rear ABS Not working
I have been fighting with the brakes on my truck (98 reg. cab flareside 4X) for over a year now and still when I come to a slow stop the rear drums are grabbing. I thought it was the drums out of round so I replaced them twice. I though that the rear axle was bent so I had the dealer check it and it was fine. Today I was driving in some snow/ice and when I braked the rear tires were locking up! Could someone explain how the ABS works and if it could be causing my grabbing problem? I would really like to fix it myself if possible so that the dealers around here do not mess the truck up more than they already have - idiots

Let me ask you this...
you never mentioned if your RABS light illuminated? If it did there is simple procedure to determine the fault code which will give you a direction to follow when troubleshooting.
Make sure the bulb is not burnt out either.
I put in a new sensor in the rear of my 98 and modified/calibrated the rear brake proportioning valve. My rear abs works mint now in the snow/ice/rain. Much better than any other rabs truck I owned.
