Cool New mudding pics!

I just got some pics back from my last weekend mudding trip with my buds, Longhorn Offroad. We went to devil's den in San Antonio, TX. This place is Awesome! I wen't through a lot of mud and I didn't even get stuck! Thanks in a bag part to my new BFG all-terrian's! These tires kick @ss! And they still don't rub! I showed those guys what a 2wd can do! anyway, here's a sample, the rest you can view at my photopoint album,

Nice pics! Does that truck have a posi rear end or the stock diff? As soon as the weather warms up i will be putting a 4" suspension lift and 35" super swampers on my f-150. Everyone says i'm crazy for lifting a 2wd but you proved us 2 wheelers can offroad as good as anyone!

Cool

I have the stock open diff. I was thinking about getting a lim. slip, but now I'm not so sure I want one. I'd rather put the mony into more agressive tires. As far as a 4" lift clearing 35" tires, I don't know about that. Depends on the lift, Rancho is the only one I know of that makes a 4" for 2wd, and I think they say you can clear 35" tires if you use rims with the right backspacing, and width(16x8 with no more than 4" backspacing) and a little valence trimming. I KNOW for a fact that the RCD 5" lift will clear 35" tires with a little fender trimming and they allow up to 4.5" backspacing on the rim(16x8).

Also, 2wd can offroad as long as you keep it off the rocks. Mud is as far as you can take it. But I don't mind a bit, I don't want too much body damage.

Have fun with your lift, post pics when you get it.

They may say we are crazy, but look how much cleaner the front end looks on a lifted 4x2, to a 4x4. It is all open underneath whereas the 4x4 has got the straight axle in the front.

Split,

Straight axle? What year are you looking at? My 1997 and 2001 both 4x4 have independent front supsension - not a straight axle or cluttered look!

The only way you sould see a straight axle under a F150 (assuming it is a stock F150)is if it was 79 or older. Well I have to admit that alot of the 4x2 are pretty cool looking, but I love 4x4. Learned the hard way with my ranger about 4x2 in the snow.
