295's aren't gonna fit, and that's a fact. My buddy on here, David H, has a 4" lift with them, and they still come close to touchin, but don't. Go with 285's. It sounds so bad when you pull in a parking lot full of people in a nice truck and then your tires rub and make this awful sound. It's your choice, but it's not a wise one. 285's are plenty big on a stock 4x4.

Right aftrer you go under the bridge, you take a right a hop a curb. There's also a place in Leander where we go sometimes, but a buddy of mine scratched up his truck pretty bad by running into a boulder. If I could figure out how to show pics I could give you some. How?

r0land, 285's will fit under my 97 with a 2.5" Fabtech kit? The wingnuts at the fabtech websight said I probably would have to get tires less that 31" tall!!!

truckluver, Bridge? I don't remember seeing a bridge you go under? Can you give me more specific directions from, say, I-35 and Ben White. Thanks a lot!

picturs are easy! just type in afterwards. I'm pretty sure there is instructions on this site. Try looking in the FAQ.

Coon64, it's hard to say on that one if they will fit. The reason is that you got longer springs and longer shocks with your kit. These will flex more than the stock setup. The reason I can run 285's, and that you can easily run 295's on a 4x4 is that with the stock suspension, there is very little flex, so the tires stay put for the most part. The only place you run into problems is when you turn and the side of the wheel may contact your wheel well or some thing. But, now that I think about it, a friend of mine is running 305's on his 4x4 without any problems. But another thing to consider is that he has after market wheels with less back spacing. That also helps. Basicilly, I don't know, that's what I'm getting at. I don't want to say that you can and then you have problems. But I also know that getting bigger tires is adictive. YOu will probably just have to try it out for your self. If it doesn't fit, it's all the more motivation for a bigger lift kit. Hope this helps you.

I was talking about the 4x4. My 285's come really close to touching on the front valence, as I'm sure your 305's do. 305's are the same height as 285, just that the 305's are a little wider. 295's are 33.4 inches tall, and over 12 inches wide, and I know they are gonn rub bad. I think this cause a buddy of mine had 295's on his 98 4x4 with a 4" lift and they were still close to rubbin, and did on occasion when he took it off-road. I will find a pic, and post it up. Hell, people can do want they want, I don't care. I just think runnin 295's on a stock 4x4 is not too smart, just wait til a lift. Now, runnin 295's on a stock 4x2, that's insane. You are throwin the looks of your truck, out the door.

mudder, you are a bit off on the width of the 295's, 305's are wider. 305 = 12.2" wide, while 295 = 11.8" wide. As far as throwing the looks of your truck with big tires, it's a preference thing. Some of us like the look of big tires stuffed into the wheel well. Just had to clarify some things there.
