Super Duty Tires (need a little info)

My Dad has asked me to put new tires on his truck while he is gone on vacation :-) His truck is an 02 F350 4x4 SRW V10 supercab w/ 8' bed

I need a little info:
What is the stock tire size (he couldn't tell me off the top of his head)
and if I'm going to put wider (maybe a little taller, but not much) tire on, what is recomended?

He wants an agressive tire, but not a mudder, so I figure I'll have set of BF Goodrich ATs put on - but what is out that will allow me to keep the 'E' load rating?

Thanks,
36

The stock tire size for that truck is LT265/75-16

Bridgestone Dueler Revo's (I have them on an 00 F-150 and recommend them highly) come in that size with a C, D, or E load rating:

Yokohama Geolanders A/T's are also a good LT tire:

And the BF Goodrich All Terrain’s you are looking for look like they are only available with D load rating:

Call a couple of tire shops to see what equivalent sizes will fit that truck, but I would not go very far from the stock size. I hope your dad gave you a budget to spend cause good All Terrain tires of that type and size are probably $175-225 each.

Hello 36fan,

You could upgrade to a 285/75-16 but you may have an hard time finding a "E" load rating in that size you are most likely going to have to stick with the stock size. One of my favorite tires because of the aggressive tread pattern is the Cooper Discoverer S/T and S/T-C. They run about $130-$150 and make a 265/75-16 "E" load rating, check it out. You can also search on tirerack.com by size, they have a good selection and low prices.

Nope, didn't get a budget.
When I pushed him for a price range, all he was said is, "Set it up like you did yours." I told him I couldn't afford to set mine up the way I wanted to, he said, "Well I can." So I get an unlimited budget for tires, and he wants me to do the brakes, too (i.e. - aftermarket rotors)

I saw that the BFGs come in 265/75/16, 285/75/16, and 305/70/16. The 285s and 305s essentially have the same diameter.

Is anyone running the 305/70/16 size? I want to ensure their wouldn't be a rubbing issue.

I checked on wheel widths for the 305s and found they require at least an 8 inch wheel (stock is 7")

I ordered the BFG ATs in 285/75/16 yesterday from Sears and I am out the door w/ Road Hazard for $756. I just have to wait for them to come in now.

Thumbs up BFG A/T KO

I just installed BFG A/T KO's, stock size 265/70R17 on the stock 17x7.5 OEM wheels. I have an '02 Screw 4x4. I am really glad I got them.

Havent had time to take them off-road yet, but in the back lot at work, I can sling twin rooster tails of sand at will
