Cool

Most Kelly tires are the same as Goodyear tires. Goodyear is the parent company of K/S and most of the tires are the same only the name is changed. I worked for K/S for many years and the same tire goes into molds marked Goodyear and Kelly and a few other private brands. I think those tires are the same as Wranglers. By the way K/S and Goodyear tires have good quality control standards.

Where did you find Kelly tires 26570R17 for $100.00 a piece?
The cheapest good tires I could find were the Good Year Wrangler RT/S for $120.00 a piece. That price was from Sam's price club.

I have the Kelly Safari AWR or whatever it is. I like them. I had the GY ATS before and I think the KS's are much better. I got a great price on them and I've haven't had any complaints. It was under $400 for 4 tires mounted, balanced, disposed, etc. I've been through deep snow, muck, standing water and all no complaints. The noise isn't bad either. I think they are a little louder now than the originally were, but still not bad. I'll let you know in a little over 2 weeks how they are in sand once I got to Silver Lake for my first time!

I don't know if Goodyear and Kelly Springfied are the same tire or not. I originally had Goodyear and was disappointed. I asked the guys at Discount Tires for something better and they sold me the Kelly's, which I was very happy with. I switched to BFG's when I changed rim size and like them even better.

The cheapest "good" tires did you say? No. RT/S Wranglers are far from being good tires. I took the original RT/S off @ 2000 miles, put BFG A/t on, wore them out after 45000 miles, and now while deciding on new wheels, put the old suckin' GoodYears back on to bide the time. Let me tell you, after getting accustomed to the ride and handling with a real set of tires like the BFG's, the Goodyears are nothing short of dangerous. I have had to start driving like my Grandmother just to keep it in the curves and keep the ABS from being used to stop.

Can you tell I am not quite happy with my Goodyear tires?

I bought my Kelly's in PA at a local chain called Eddy's Tires. I think with tax and such, it was $434. I know they were better than the GY's. They might not be as good as the BFG's, but I don't think the BFG's are $400 better in my book. Just MHO.

kelly tires

Hey Paul,
Dont lissen to them. Kelly's have out performed any Goodyear I ever had. I had a 98 F-150. The Goodyears that came on it were shot in just over 30k. I put Kelly SUV's on it. I sold the truck to my brother. He now has 96k on it and the same Kelly SUV's. So, you do the math. Those kellys have over 60k on them and they could probably go another year or so before he's gonna have to replace them. I currently have a 2000 I bought last summer. It had brand new GY Wranglers on. I put 12k on it since I bought it and those tires will be shot in about another 5k. I'll tell you this. " They WILL be replaced with Kelly SUV's!"
