Question Switching from 17" ORP wheels to 16"

Okay, I have a 2000 XLT ORP on order. I do not like the tire availability, so I would like to have 16" wheels instead. I really like the 16" cast aluminum 5-spoke wheels.

What is the best way to get out of the 17" wheels and into the 16"? Should I sell the 17s? Or is there a place to trade them in? I generally dislike the look of aftermarket wheels....

Last thing, does anyone know the width of the 16" wheels I am referencing? Would like to put LT285/75R16 BFGs on them....

There seems to be a lot of discussion about wheels and tires lately. For the money I think the 305's are the best 16" tires (see profile below.) I sold mine for almost what it cost for new.

Find someone who might want to swap.
Normally the classifieds are the way to go but they have been down for a while.

I saw a set of stock rims and tires (16's) for sale at an off-road shop a while back. Rims and tires (junk Goodyear's) for $500. You might want to check around at tire shops or off-road shops and just see if they have any. You might get lucky, you might not. I'd also check to see if they would sell them for you.

16" cast aluminums are 7" wide.
