Tire size question

I have a chance to pick up 4 new tires at a real good price and was wondering if anyone could tell me if they will fit. They are 255/70R/16. Im concerned about the front ones being too big and hitting/rubbing when turning lock to lock. The truck is a 2000 F150 XL 4X2.

Thanks.

No chance of any kind of problem.
The trucks came from the factory with that size as an option.

Just double checked my tires and they are 235/70R/16's. Went to the Ford site and tried to build a 2004 Heritage Edition XL ( for comparison) and the addition of 255's requires that the engine go from a 4.2 to 4.6. Is there that much extra rubber that make the 4.2 V6 struggle???

Oh....those kinds of problems, I thought you just meant fit problems.

Yes, there will be degradation going to a larger tire but, the V6 wasn't a hotrod in the first place.

255's on a V6

My truck came from the factory with 255/70/R16 and I have a 98 Reg Cab V6 - I have no problems with bog down or take off or shift points- Actually I am looking for tires right now and looking to go with a 265/75/R16.

i have an '01 2wd sport with v6 and 5 spd.

the tire size is 255x70x16, no problems at all with this tire size. these are factory tires, and will be replaced by same size in the very near future.
