DAVENSA:

What other mods have you done to the truck, its a beauty allright! Is it lifted? Did you crank the torsion bars?

What brand tire are you running?

I was told that the Bridgestone Dueler AT is a good tire and nearly $20 less each than BFG, anyone running them?

Cool

Hey Dave fess up how much lift do you have on the truck and is it 4x4 or 4x2 and what brand of lift?

Ok now to everyone else ... why is every one talking about 285's when you can all go and get the 295/75/16 BF Goodrich tires for the truck and really make it look good?????

Because you dont wanna fill up the wheel wells to much, you gotta leave a little room for flex. I dont see how you are gonna fit those where they don't rub, cause my friend on here has a 4" lift on his with 295's and they rub on hard turns. 285's are 32.8, and 295's are 33.4. They wont fit on mine, and to tell ya the truth, would only look good with a lift, but that's just me. Do you have any pics of your truck with the 295's?

I just had new wheels and tires put on my 97 ORP SC F150 non lifted truck last week and have had NO PROBLEMS rubbing. I put on 16x8 Mickey Thompson Challenger wheels with 305 70 16 Goodyear Mud Terrains. It made the truck look a lot meaner and bigger. I have already had the suspension fully flexed and no rubbing occured. Not even on the air dam. I would definately reccomend this tire size. I don't know if they would rub on a truck without the ORP or not. Just my two cents.

Hey guys, from what I have discovered in my research both tires will fit on the 4x4 ORP...they are actually very similar in size.

The 285/75/16 is:
32.83" tall and 11.22" wide
614 revs per mile

The 305/70/16 is:
32.81" tall and 12.01" wide
615 revs per mile
----------------------------------
AND...

The 295/75/16 is bigger than both...
33.42" tall and 11.61" wide
603 revs per mile

***NOTE*** This width is calculated from the nominal dimensions. The actual diameter of a tire varies depending on the tread depth

So the 285's and the 305's are almost the exact same height? I did not know that, that is pretty cool.

Well the tires fit with no rubbing .... I have driven the truck very hard in dunes and in mud, over rocks and the odd firefly that got in the way and have never had so much as a slight rub ... visually there is still plenty of room for a good look and it is much better than stock.

Now i have removed the front mud flaps based on info i received here about the 305's rubbing the mud flaps so i saved the head ache right of the bat ... the rear muds are still in place to keep the coppers happy.

I have 0 lift so far on this truck and it is a stock 97 flareside 4x4. As far as i know i did not order the ORP ... i didn't want the wheels and stickers that came with the package ... I did however get the higher gears and other options that come with the package.

Even under full bed load these tires have not rubbed anything.

I will try and take some pictures this weekend and post them here next week for you to see .....

Steve ;-)\

P.S. I would appreciate if someone could tell me how to get the pic uploaded properly

Here's some pic's with the 285's on (I upgraded from 265/70R 17's to 285/75R 16) They look MUCH better and as stated above absolutely no rubbing...

Had way too much trouble with posting the pics - they were too big and I had trouble resizing....

You can see the rest of my truck pic's at http://dopealicious.tripod.com/page_3.htm

Well I have got the Bridgestone Dueler AT's, and so far I like them a lot. They have excellent wet pavement traction, even from the starting line. They are good in the gravel and loose sand, but haven't gotten them into the mud yet. I am going to try and find some mud this weekend, and then I will post my results from getting them dirty.

Sorry guys been away from my computer to long. My truck is a 4x2. Total lift is about 7 inches, so far. Thats not including the little bit I got from the 285s. After I put the 3 inch bodylift on I will probably go with the 315s ( they will fit now, just dont want to fill to much of the fender wells)..
Basically my truck sits higher than a stock 4x4 (WAY HIGHER) and its about the same height as a 4 inch lifted 4x4 or a hair taller.....DAVE

Question

Hey MNFORD99...

Let me know how they did...also, do you have any photos with the Dueler AT on your truck? What did you pay for each tire?

Question

What PSI are you guys running the BFG 285/75/16's at??? Every time I get the oil changed they air 'em down to 32 psi...it just feels better closer to 40 psi, but what should I be running them at? & it helps to air them up when towing right???

Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated...
