Post Good rock tire suggestions needed

I am looking for a tire (in 35x12.5 16 or 16.5) that can resist the cutting action of shale rock and similar conditions.

I am looking for something maybe 6, but likely 8, or 10 ply, that maintains decent on-road manners (handling, noise, balancing, rain/snow, wear, etc...)

I am considering Super Swamper SSR's, and General Grabber MT's. I would like to have a radial.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Cool

The Mickey Thompson Baja Claw is the best rock tire around. It's been proven in 4 Wheel Magazine, and a few others, plus it looks awesome. Don't even consider a General tire, cause generally they suck. The Claw doesn't come in a 12.5, but a 35 x 13.50-16LT. Maybe that will work.

Here's an Excursion with the Claw in a 35x13.50-16LT.

I guess you can't go wrong with Swampers, but too many people have those.

while not as exotic as the MTs, the BFGs and Cooper tires hold up really well in loose rock. The also are very hard to puncture. Our cabin was on a 36 mile dirt road, and never had a problem with them. Even wheeling up the mountains in eastern oregon. Tons of shale rock there!
