would 17" rims with 265/70 tires fit on a 4X2 extended cab? i want the look of a 4X4 lariat.
if not can i use the fabtech 2" basic lift for the front only? or the eibach lift?
i read somewhere that i only need to lift the front for the 17"rims and larger tires to fit, is this true?
thanks.

They will fit fine, I had a set of 4x4 17"/265 wheels/tires on my 4x2 for about a month. No problem at all, in fact, I could barely tell the difference.

I don't really remember how much extra room there was when I had them on. I did that before I installed my 3" spindle lift.
Just putting the 265/17 on your 4x2 won't quite get you up to a 4x4. I would definately go with a spindle lift if you can afford it. A body lift will also get you bigger tires. Good luck!

I have that same set up. I had 255/70/16 (stock wheel and tire 4X2) and put the ORP 17" Crome with 265/70/17 Goodyear AT/S. They fit fine but only gave about an inch of lift. I put a set of 3" Bullseye Spindels in the front and 3" Block & U-Bolt Kit in the rear. From the center of the wheelwell to the ground in the front measures 38" and the rear is 39". Same height as a stock 4X4. Hope this helps.
