I have a BMW and when you do the brakes you replace the rotors (per manual: they will not turn them). I did the same on my C5 vette. The rotors were $50 each new.

Question: Do F150 owners replace the rotors or get them turned (obviously if they are shot they would have to be replaced)

Also where is the best place to get rotors cheap?

Generally speaking, my experience is Ford rotors on 1/2 ton trucks, although machineable, are usually worn, pitted or rusted beyond the point where they can be turned successfully. In the cases where they can be turned the fix doesn't last long.

As to where can you buy rotors cheap, not sure in your area. But if you want cheap rotors buy Ford rotors.
