Question Tire Help! Wandell, Anyone

Hey guys I'm looking for the widest tire i can put on my truck without a lift and only doing the torsion bars? i have the stock 260/70/17 now on my 02 FX4. I would also like to change the rims to something chrome and in the stonecrusher style. i like the revo 285/75r/16 but i believe they are only 11.5" wide 12.5 is what i want! can i just put 33/12.50/16 on with no problem, do they make a 33/12.50/17 even? anyway width is number one concern then height and rims. There is so much info on this site it gets over whelming so i thought I'd just ask for my truck! also what is the bolt pattern on my truck just incase i have to buy 16" rims to have a fatter tire! Thanks

The bolt pattern on your truck is 5x135mm. Since you say you want a wide look, it sound like you want 16x10 or 17x10 inch rims with 33x12.50's. It seems like almost everyone makes a 305/70-16(33x12.50), but 33x12.50-17's are a little more scarce. I know that the Pro Comps, Mickey Thompson Baja Radial MTX's, and **** Cepek Radial FC II are avalilable in 33x12.50-17, but that's about it. You will have more wheel and tire choices if you go with a 16x10 and a 305/70-16 which works out to be a 33x12.50-16. This combo will fit by cranking up the torsion bars and/or trimming a little plastic off the front bumper's lower valance.

Thanks wandell, i'll start looking for a 16/10 rim and do the 305/12.50/16 tire (33/12.50/16) i forgot to ask but with a 33/12.50/16 i wont need to change any gears right 3.55 is ok? i really should just do like your truck with a 3" lift it looks real good.

I have 3.55 gears and mine is fine. I really didn't notice a difference when I went from the stock 30 inch tall tires to 33's. Of course, my speedometer is now off 5mph at 60.
