I just recently had my 3inch suspension lift put onto my 4x2 1997 Ford F150. I have on the truck right now 255/70/16 but i think they look too small, and they did from the start so now i want to put even bigger ones on, especially since its lifted a little bit. I want to get new rims too, maybe keeping 16inch rims as the size, but can i run up to 285 on 16 inch rims with my 4x2 truck? Any body with recommendations or pictures of a lifted 4x2 with big tires please post em'? Thanks!

 

A stock 4x4 is approximately 3 inches taller than a stock 4x2. So you are now about the same height as a 4x4, which means you can fit a 285/75-16 (33x11.50) easily.

As we speak I am having Helo Maxx6 18" chrome wheels and Nitto A/T Grappler tires 325x65x18 mounted. I have an '04 FX4 with a 2.5" kit only. The tires are sweet and fit very well. With your lift you should have no probs.

 

Just buy a quality tire like the BFG AT KO's, Nitto Terra Grapplers, Bridgestone Dueler's , etc.
