33's with no lift?
I am new to this site and i just bought my 2000 supercab 4x4. I have searched all over this site and cant find what I am looking for. I want to put 33x12.50's or the metric equivalent without lifting my truck. I want to tires to stick out a couple of inches but i dont know what back spacing to get. I had planned on getting 16x10 in. wheels but after researching on this site I am afraid they will rub unless I get 16x8's. Please help set up my truck. I want it to look as agressive as possible with no lift except a torsion bar crank. Thanks for all of your help.

The metric size for a 33" is 285/75/xx. If you go with an 8" wheel they will fit without any trimming or adjusting. I am running 16x8 285/75/16's now and love the look. They do a much better job of filling the wheel well than the stock tires do. Look at my gallery to get an idea of what to expect on a stock truck with 285/75's.

They are right. A 285/75-16 is approximately a 33x11.50. A 305/70-16 is approximately a 33x12.50. You can fit 305's on a 16x10 inch wheel by cranking up the torsion bars and/or trimming a little plastic off the front bumper's lower valance. Here's some pics of my Screw at stock height with 285/75-16 BFG AT KO's on 16x10 Eagle's with 4 1/2 inches of backspacing.

Thanks for the help. I think in will go with the 285/75-16 on a 10 inch wheel. One other question though. If went with 4 in backspacing instead of 4.5 would i still have to trim the fender, and how much more trimming would be needed to fit to the 305. I dont want to totally destroy my bumper. Aslo, wandell do you have any other pics you could send me of your setup. Thanks for the help guys.

If you went with a 4 inch backspacing, you would have to trim more because the wheel would stick out more. I don't think that's an option because I have never seen a 16x10 inch wheel for our trucks with 4 inches of backspacing. All I've seen have been 4 1/2 or 4 5/8 inches of backspacing. If you went with 305/70-16 you would probably have to trim an inch or 1 1/2 inches of plastic. That's what I would do if I were you. The only reason I went with a 285/75 was because BFG didn't make a 305/70-16 in 2001.

Depending on the wheel you select, I don't see a problem getting that size on your truck. Just make sure you shop around. I have seen many people jump on the first thing they like and over pay for what they recieved. There is a lot of margin in wheels and even more in tires, specially aftermarket stuff. Don't be afraid to haggle a little. Many places also will match and beat competitors, so do your homework. It could save you a couple hundred dollars. Just some words of wisdom.

Everyone on this site uses inches when talking about offset and backspacing. The wheels i have found list in mm. For example one i was looking at was 16x10 -24mm. So what does that mean. What do i need to look for to equal the 4.5 inches. Thanks again I have never purchased aftermarket wheels before.
