Looking for tire recommendations for my F150 Supercrew 4x4. Time to replace the stock tires that I am not too happy with. Mostly street driving but looking for tires that are good in the rain and snow. The stock tires leave a lot to be desired in cornering and in rain and snow. Thanks...

 

I have an 01 SuperCrew. My truck has 17 " Wheels on it. My factory tires wore poorly. I replaced them with 265/70/17 Michelin LTX M/S . They ride like a dream, and made my truck feel new again. I have also noticed when I corner, there is no longer a squeal at higher speeds. These tires are rather pricy, but well worth the money in my opinion. Some trucks come with a 16" wheel, these are also available in 265/70/16 LTX M/S.

Note, there are 4 tires avail, LTX m/s, LTX A/S, LTX AT( also a nice tire ) and the Cross Terrain. I'd put my money on the LTX M/S, although I have had excelent results on prior vehicles with the A/T, it is the smoothest running, quietest A/T I have ever owned.

 

I'd suggest the BFG AT KO's, Bridgeston Dueler AT's, Nitto Tera Grapplers or Toyo Open Country AT's. All of these are excellent all terrian tires.

 

One I would not recommend is Goodyear Wrangler AT/S. I blew 4 of them out in about two months. The tread is ok but the sidewalls are crap. Small sticks and weeds arent supposed to puncture tires. They're about $180 each as well.

 

I agree about the Wranglers..My father in law has a set on his F150 XLT 4x4 screw & sideswiped a stick in the woods & ripped a giant slice in the sidewall.

 

I recently bought new tires for my 4X4 supercab. After a lot of research on the tirerack.com website, I settled on Bridgestone Duravis M773II, they seemed to have the best consumer feedback, however they were also the most expensive. I drive in snow and off road, I figure expensive tires would be cheaper than replacing sheetmetal so I went with what I thought was the all around best. I haven't been disapointed, much improvment over the stock Goodyear Wrangler. There is problably a better "value" out there, but I needed tires quick, and had limited time to shop around. I would as well have to agree with the BFG A/T KO's. Excellent wet and snow traction, quiet highway driving, rugged good looks and a patented 3 ply sidewall that is like iron to puncture. Somewhat pricey but well worth the investment.

 

Been riding on Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo's for about a year now. Good in the rain, GREAT in the snow. Still like the looks of the BFG's better, but at the time the Revo's were a litte cheaper and rated a little higher by tirerack.

 

Well the dealer were I just bought my truck put brand new tire on my truck before it was delivered.
He put some Mastercraft tires, 265/70/17 AT, made by Cooper?? They are the worse tires I have ever had!! They squell when cornering, and are loud as heck on the road!!
On my last truck I had put Michelin, and I have to say IMO I have never had a better tire!!
So I guess i will have to wear out these Mastercrap's and then I will by some new Michelin's

This website and forum are very helpful. I had no idea what tires to buy but now I have a good idea. I will be very happy to get rid of the stock Wranglers. They squeal around every corner and are terrible in the rain...........THANKS Again!!

 

I went with Revos on mine and I love them. I will never put another tire on my Screw as lonf as Bridgestone makes this style of Revo...they are that good!

if you can afford it you got to definitely go with the BFG A/T ko. It is by far the best All terrian tire on the market. I just bought a set of 285/70/17 for my flareside. They give it a great aggresive look but deliver a quiet ride on the highway. The only draw back is the price.

 

The BFG's are def. worth the money...I've been very pleased.
