Tire Size?

How much bigger are 33x12.50/17 tires compare to 265/70/17? I saw a truck with 265/75/16 on the other day and erally liked the way it looked.

A 265/75/16 (same as a 265/70/17) is pretty close to a 31/10.5. Its a little bit larger but thats the closest metric equivalent tire you'll find. As I recall it works out to a 31.5/10.8 if you do the math. If you want a 33/12.5 you're looking at a 305/70/16.

Since tire manufacturers always round tire sizes up to the next whole number, a 265/70-17 would essentially be a 32x10.50-17. So a 33x12.50-17 will be approximately 1 inch taller and 2 inches wider than a 265/70-17.

Going from a 32" to a 33" tire only makes you 1/2" taller.

Techincally, the tire is 1" larger in diameter and the truck sits 1/2" higher.
