Traction/Noise/budget tradeoff

I am looking for an aggressive AT or mild mud terrain. Which tires offer the most aggressive off road performance while maintaining good road manners? I am a bit frustrated that manufactures are allowed to market tires as AT that are just glorified all seasons.

Tires I am considering: (285/75/16)

ProComp Mud Terrain
Firestone Destination MT
Cooper Discoverer ST
Trail Cutter MT or RT (made by Cooper/Laramie/Eldorado)
BFG AT
Interco TRXUS MT (only comes in a 10 ply this size)
Nitto Terra Grappler

others ?

I don't mind some road noise but not the roar of full on mud grips like the TSL or Boggers.

I would appreciate your feedback on these tires.

Thanks

I would add bridgestone dueler at revos to that list, as well as buckshot maxxis mudders and remington mud brutes.

From what I have read, the new Toyo Open Country MT's have the best road manners of any mud terrian tire. They are supposedly very quiet, for a mud terrian tire. The closest thing to them would be the BFG MT KM's and Goodyear Wrangler MTR's.
If you want to stick to an all terrian tire, the BFG AT KO and Mickey Thompson Baja Radial MTX probably work better off road than any of the other all terrian tires in mud. Just remember, no all terrian tire is going to be great in the mud.

Look at the Yokahama Geolanders. I have almost 20K on mine and am more than pleased. Good road manners, good off-road and the price is way under the BFG and Revo. They are also one of the only S rated truck tires that I found. This might be important if you plan on doing much highway driving.

Cooper's new mud terrain (STT) looks a lot like the goodyear and toyo but with the new design there is a new price as well. I am aware of the limitations of an AT and if I wanted to be practical I would buy a mild mannered AT and save up for a winch. But who wants to be practical all the time?

Here's what I found so far at local shops:

Prices include: mount, balance, taxes, fees etc)

BFG AT KO (discount tire) 775
Nitto Grappler (discount) 658
Trail Cutter MT or RT 600
Cooper ST 825
Cooper STT 890
Firestone Destination MT 690

Mail order:
TRXUS 648 (delivered) + M&B

I have heard many good things about the Firestone Destination MT, all the ratings at tire sites have been pretty high
the price really isnt too bad either.
Im probably going to go with these tires as soon as my stock tires are wasted
