Tire fit with 3 inch BL

Hello, I have a 99 expedition. I have a 3'BL on the way. What I need to know is how much will it cost to have the BL installed?

Next, I would like to keep my stock wheels to save some money, whats the biggest BFG AT i can fit?

Finally, if anyone could please post pics of their rig with a 3'BL and their tires, I would like to see what they look like.

Thanks for your time, MATT

How much it costs to install just depends. I've seen people get estimates from $100 to $700. I'd save the money and do it yourself. They are not that hard to install. It's just slow, tedious work.
As far as tires, you can fit a 315/75-16 or 315/70-17 BFG AT KO using the OEM wheels. Both tires are essentially 35x12.50's. You could also fit them on 8 to 10 inch wide aftermarket wheels if you decide to go that way at a later date. If you go with a 10 inch wide wheel, you will also have to crank up the torsion bars and trim a little plastic off the front bumper's lower valance.

Thanks for the response, as far as installing it, I'm at school, so my tools are limited, and it would just be easier (time wise) to have a shop do it. Now on to the tires, I thought that you werent supposed to go larger than 33's with the 3.73 gears? Wont those 35's put too much strain on the gears. If you think about it, that extra 2 inch tire is only going to give you 1 inch of actually lift(if that). Is it worth the added 'stress' to go bigger? I would like to keep the stock rims to save money, but if anyone has a cheap aftermarket set laying around or knows of a place to get some dirt cheap, let me know. Thanks MATT

I forgot to ask something, the wheels are 16's now, can I buy a set of 15inch rims to use??? 15's are cheaper and so are the truck tires to put on them, thanks MATT

15 inch wheels will not fit over the brakes on your Expy. Yes, you are correct, 35's will cause you to notice a lack of power. If you have 3.73's, it won't be as bad as if you had a taller set of gears. Also, it will be a more noticable power loss if you have a 4.6 than if you have a 5.4.

Ive got the trition 5.4...i think ill go with the 33's on my 16's. I just dont want to have to trim anything with the 35's. That sound like a good set up to you? You think theyll fill up the wheel wells alright?
