rusted brake line

Anyone have a 97 f 150 have a brake line rust completely through? No I don't live in Michigan,this truck is very well kept.

Bro i live near buffalo ny (salt and more salt) and all my lines still look new not rust. They should not rust thru so fast. Just replace it and put it behind you.

Thats what I did

But you think that if you buy a new truck @$25k that its components would last longer than 7 years. I was more curious to know if anyone else has the same problem.

Dear talltoy rusted brake fittings are tough to get loose, im an expert on everything, if a good quality line wrench don't work, try heating up the fitting, and if that still don't work, cut off the line at the fitting and use a 6 point Snap-On socket on it.

I just cut a section out and replumbed it. Thanks for the suggestion.

Question Brake Line Rust ... Ford special fittings???

Sign me on for rust induced leak on the long run to the rear. Whats the deal with the fittings? Ford only ? Special ? Seems like
bell type flare ? Long nose fittings
Autostore 3/16 equivelent? Or some other. Thanks Mark in Ohio 97 Expedition 4x4

Just to be on the safe side, no compression fittings allowed!

My 98 in Pa. looks ok. I did just replace lines on my son's 85 continental tho.
