hubcaps

I wanta get a set of plastic hubcaps from Wal Mart, but the biggest size they have is 15", and the wheels on my 2003 F150 are 16", can anybody suggest where I can get some cheap 16" hubcaps at. or is there any way I could glue on the 15" hubcaps to the 16" wheels? I was thinking that RTV Silicone might hold.

Have you considered some 16" F-150 take-offs from a member here, e-bay, or wheel shops? I don't know anyone here that would have the plums to confirm your idea of using silicone to rig up 15" Wal-Mart hubcaps. That would have to look 100 times worse than any available F-150 wheel IMO.

I know it's your truck, but I have to agree. Any OEM Ford wheel looks better than hubcaps.

You can order 16" hubcaps from jcwhitney, though you're better off without them. When you put them on they'll put micro scratchs in the paint which will actually make the wheels rust faster. Not only that, but it will hold grime and snow behind them longer hurting the wheels further. You're honestly better off without them. If they do start to rust, at the end of the year grind them down with a wire wheel and repaint them. Using RTV to make 15" hubcaps won't work in a million years. There is no way you could put enough RTV on there to hold those things on.

I put chrome trim rings on steel wheels and the connectors scratched up the wheels and they rusted like crazy.

Use the hubcap money for a bucket and sponge.

I smell a troll. Who in their right mind would even consider such a rediculous idea? RTV Silicone to glue on plastic hubcaps? c'mon, this can't be real. No one can be that stupid.

I don't know, the person who came into the store today might have been. They wanted to know if the sun shining on their computer kept it awake. AND THEY WERE SERIOUS I deal with people all day asking MUCH dumber questions than this.

Rocky ? I want my truck to look good, and at the same time to protect my wheels froms rusting in the winter, where I live they throw salt and choride on the roads to melt the snow and ice, and that choride really marks up my steel, chrome wheels. Hubcaps serve a perpose, to protect ur wheels from the junk on the roads, and the plastic hubcaps they sell at Wal Mart are cheap, and look good at the same time, I just wish they sold them in 16"
