turning tires around

i have a 2003 F-150 King Ranch Super Crew 4x4 w/ stock goodyear wranglers. A buddy of mine who has an 04 250 KR said that he flipped his tires around so that the sidewalls showed the "blacked-out" side instead of the white lettering. I am interested in doing this b/c his truck looks nice with the all black tires. Have any of you guys heard of doing that and if so what is involved. I already have about 21,000 miles on the truck and a concern of mine about doing this is tread wear. Any advice?

Thanks

Jay

Almost all raised white letter tires have raise black letters on the other side. You just need to have a tire shop remove them from the wheels, turn them around, remount them and balance them.

Most of the Goodyears you can scrape off the white lettering. A buddy had crap Goodyears on his Expy and the right side tires had all the white letters worn off.
