Just installed some 20's

I just installed my new 20" Demoda Intimidator's with the Hyperblack finish and 305/55/20 Terra Grapplers. I think they look great. The Hyperblack finish looks like stainless steel. My next mod is an air intake then I'M DONE. (and poor). More pics are in my gallery. https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?gnum=5243

I'm not usually a big fan of the bigger wheels but that looks like a nice combo

Looks good. That hyperblack finish is not what I expected... huh.. interesting. Is the lip darker than the spokes?

The wheel surface is all the same color. The wheels have a painted surface with a clear coat. They should be pretty easy to maintain---just wash with soapy water and wax occasionally. I"ll take some better pics tomorrow after I wash the truck.

JDIG - Your truck looks great! Do you think those wheels and tires would still work if you didn't have your leveling kit? I keep hearing everyone say I will need a leveling kit for 305/55/20, but I have seen some people with 325/60/18 without it, and the outer size is essentially the same. I can't see that the leveling kit would give you anymore clearance inside the fenderwell except at the top.

I can only see one place where clearance might be a problem without the leveling kit and that is at the rear part of the front wheelwells. I only have about 1 inch of clearance between the back side of the tire and my mudflap as shown in the picture below and the mudflap is angled slightly to the rear. I have a 2" leveling kit and if the front of the truck was dropped 2" it looks like the tire may rub the fender at this point while making tight turns.

I don't have mudflaps, so that will give me some extra room compared to yours. I can't see that the truck being 2" lower would decrease the room on the side of the tires, just the top. The fenders don't curve in until they get pretty far up, so being lower wouldn't make a difference in the distance to the fenderwell when the wheel is turned. Would you agree with this, or am I not thinking clearly?

I drew an imaginary line thru the axis of the wheel and tire and the full diameter of the tire sits below the wheel well opening. If I removed the leveling kit and dropped the front of the truck 2" it may put this axis within the lower part of the fender opening which may cause a clearance issue. I don't know--I'm just basing this on my observations of my own truck. It looks like the part of the fender that may contact is just the plastic inner wheel well and could be trimmed back. The wheels are 20"x9" and the tires are 33.07" dia. and 12.6" wide. Maybe someone else has a similar combo without the leveling kit that could answer your question better.

Thanks for all your help! I finally found some pics of the 305/50/20 terra grapplers on a stock truck, and they still look big enough. I will probably go that way.
