SAJEFFC,
Those tires look sweet. What tires did you have previously that gave you a bumpy ride? Did you have any decrease in gas mileage with the new tires?

Thanks Rochester. I had the stock BFG Rugged Trail's on before. I think the rough ride with them came from the fact that Ford says to run them at 35psi which is also the max rated inflation on the sidewall. They were hard as rocks at that pressure and rode like shiot. I'm running the new ones at 45psi on a 65psi max rating and it feels like a Caddy! I have not noticed any decrease in mileage yet and according to my GPS my speedo previously was 3-4 mph fast and now its dead on...I lucked out there.

Looks like my luck is changing. My tire shop just called and said they located me a set of 285/65-18 BFG A/T KO's. I will be there when the doors open in the morning.

Yeah BFG says my stock Rugged Trails are suppose to be 31.9. I laid a board on top of them and measured 31 even to the ground. I would love to post up a picture but not exactly sure how. Anyone got some easy picture posting tips?

Okay actual measurements of the 285/65-18 BFG A/T KO's. Height exactly 32 inches from the ground to the top. Width **** to **** 9 inches. Width from the widest points (the bulge) is 11.5 inches. These measurements are with 8 inch wheel. They look a lot larger than the 275/65-18 Rugged Trail T/A's. I am still trying to figure out how to insert a picture on the message board. If nothing else I will update my gallery with an album next week.

cool, thanks.

I noticed that (most of time that BFG website label the height and width within over an inch but its not.

A friend of mine has 35 BFG MTKO and it said 34.9 but it measured right at 34" w/ 8" rims and 35 psi.

Thats why i m asking.

Thanks!

the reason you are getting a smaller measurment is the weight on the ground squashes the tire on the bottom. to get a accurate measurment you need to measure the tire befor you pyt it on the pickup or measure horizontaly front to back. you will get a mor acurate measurment that way and I am betting it will be alot closer to the correct measurment for that tire.

I did take my measurments off the front tire which had a noticable bulge at the bottom. From all that weight of that 5.4 3V I persume. I was worried about loosing power going to the bigger tire. I can't tell a bit of difference.
