How the F%$# do you get the front rotors off a 4x4???
Ok...Here's the deal....2000 F150 4x4 Off road 5.4....146k, time to do the brakes again....Last time I did them I only replaced the pads figuring the next time I do them, I will need to replace the front rotors...So here we are...I removed the wheel, caliper, and caliper bracket....As far as I know, the rotor should come off now????????? I have been pounding on it with a small sledge hammer for an hour, and it hasnt budged,,,,And this is still the first one, and my nerves are shot.....Am I missing something.....Somebody please help.....

Thanks guys......I didnt give up and finally got it, both sides....So tonight my baby got new rotors, pads, new sway bar links(the pass. side was gone so I replaced both of them), WD 40'd the crap out of everything underneath upfront, new plugs, new coil packs, and new injectors, just got back from driving it around for an hour or so...It really feels like new again....Im a happy camper....

I went through the same process a few months ago. Started politely with a Dead Blow Rubber HAmmer, then upgraded to a small 4lb sledge hammer, pounded for about 15 minutes per side. Finally it came off.
I did clean off the hubs really good and put on a thin layer of anti-seize compound before putting on the new Rotors, hoping that if I have to go through this again, there won't be so much banging goin'on
