Slow and sticking brakes = new caliper(s) ? 97 SC

1997 SC, 2 wheel drive 132,000 m

For a while now it has seemed that my driver's side front brake has been slow to apply - truck pulls to the right upon braking for the first half a second or so and then stops straight.

Now, on a warm (60 deg) day the brake will not come off, drags for a while, and stays almost on until I stop for an hour or so.

Question - go straight to replacing the calipers or is there something else ?

If replace is the answer, any objections to NAPA remanufactured units for this 10 year old, non-towing truck ?

Thanks

My '99 was pulling to the right and I replaced both calipers and it does the exact same thing. I used NAPA parts also.

You may have a bad break line, the rubber inside of it has come loose holding the fluid in place.Had it happen on a chev worked on the calipers and still was bad till someone advised me to change out the break line that fixed it.Hope this works for you.

I would hate to replace both calipers just to find out it was some crap in a brake line - I guess I will try that first. Probably I should start with a all out flush and bleed ?
